My sister and her chillins and i went on our spring Stone Mountain camping trip a couple weeks ago. My parents were going to join in on the fun with us for at least Saturday. My Dad had picked up my sisters tent at the girls birthday party the week before but not the tent poles. I called my sister before we left to make sure she brought the tent poles. NOT the tent stakes we had those. The tent poles.
Saturday arrived. Dad arrived and we had no tent poles. So off to Wal-Mart we went. Funny thing is that i SWORE I would not go to WalMart this trip. I bought matches at the camp ground store to avoid it. Well, we did. And i bought a tent. Happy May. I now own a tent.
If you haven't been to stone mountain i suggest it. Every time we go we do something new. We went to the Quarry Museum and grist mill this trip. And to the center at the bottom of the mountain. It was great. Totally suggest it.

The girls LOVE the train. I love this shot because they were waving at the train and the conductor is waving back at them. Ansley says "TRAIN!" no matter where we are and she can hear it. I started saying "Stone Mountain!" every time she said "Train!"
And I don't wanna talk about the Great Barn episode where I momentarily couldn't locate Ansley. Forgot to communicate to her what to do when she got to the bottom of the huge slide (wait for AA to come out before you walk off)
Before we hiked half way up the mountain. The skytram was closed due to high winds. The girls made it further up the mountain than I expected.

Ansley was NOT about to stop eating Dippin Dots for a photo op. This event marks the best thing about stone mountain to these two kids I think.

And one of my favorites- The "Steamboat" went by our camp site before dinner. We have never seen this boat, much less in the water. The girls waved and the people waved and it was great.Took it with my phone but it didn't turn out so bad.
Before the Laser Light Show. Before the wind. Before the rain. And the not having blown up our mattresses. and me forgetting my pillow at home. But it's all good. I stole Brynn's- she wasn't using it anyway at 130am.
And the girls wanted to be on the tracks. So we were.
