So (you know you been missing my opening “so”) I was on my way to church. Thinking about people who have loved ones that have gone on to heaven. Today is that stinky anniversary of when we put Momma’s “house” in the ground 12 years ago. My friends in Uganda call a body a house. Earthly house here. Not needed for heavenly living.
And as I got to church I was reminded of the following verses. So I looked them up and found it interesting that following the reminder that Christ’s power overcomes death-the grave- is an exhortation to keep at the work for the Lord. That it is not in vain. To keep the important stuff in the forefront. To keep after His business.
1 Corinthians 15:54b “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55″Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?” 56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
And one of the songs we sang this morning is one that has become one of my favorites.
I thought I would share it. Not just physical healing but heart healing. When you come to our loving Father you can’t leave disappointed. He always hears. He is not unaware. And His love is better than anything else we will ever know. I encourage you to youtube it and take a listen. Christy Nockles rocks it. And I love that it reminds me that I stand in Grace (unearned gift…aahhh, breathe that in for a section)
