Available…for His glory.

available for Him- His purpose, His glory

Just a special note to everyone who brought their extra belongings to the Yard Sale for Buloba.  And for those of you who came to organize, price, clean up, and generally help.   We raised $4200! This includes some of the money from the auctioned paintings.  We will have over $4400 when it is all said and done probably.   I cannot tell you how much this will do for the church building in Buloba.  We will be able to send the money to them and they can continue work on the building!

Some may say that we give the "junk" we have at home to the yard sale to make ourselves feel better.  That we just give some "junk" and not the good stuff.  That folks who come and buy stuff just want more stuff.  That our giving is a way to avoid having to "do" something- like go on a trip, talk to someone in need, wrap our arms around someone hurting.  Possibly that is the motivation.  HOWEVER, I have seen people bring things that they did not want to part with, that they could have sold themselves and made quite a bit of money on, that meant something to them.  I saw people repeatedly pay for their items and overpay saying "Keep the rest for the people you are helping.  They need it more than I do."   I think people are getting it.

Bringing or buying stuff at the yard sale could possibly be the start of something.  I know people who have said "Andi, I brought stuff to the yard sale, but I realized I wanted to do more.  So I went and did…"  The amazing thing is that God uses all kinds of situations, people, and even our junk to draw people to Him.  As we make ourselves available He uses us…where we are, to take us where He wants us to be.  Sometimes we have to give up our "junk" so we can be more available.  Hmmm, Amazing stuff- a room full of junk that is now gone.  Changing lives, here and on the other side of the world.
