Available…for His glory.

available for Him- His purpose, His glory

I felt the need to back track a little and share a story from the ARM workday/Cornerstone in the Community from a few weeks ago.  Here is the story as related to me by the mom of a teenager who came:

I know my son played basketball a lot and didn’t really do any work on the house but I think he really "got it."  He told me that while they were playing with the children who lived in the work home and some of the other homes the little boys asked "Which one is your Dad?  Which one is your Dad? And who is your Dad?"  The boys all responded by pointing out their Dads while they worked.  The teenagers asked the little boys "Where is your Dad?"  To which the little boys said "I don’t have a Dad."   It was such a profound relization for my son to hear that.  There are kids who literally don’t have a Dad in their life.  If that is one of the only things my son took away from the day I am satisfied.  He is really getting the need that people have.

I Love to hear this kind of stuff!  I love to see the beginning of the awareness of the need, the impact, and the workings of God in a hands on way (aka Missions)!  I continue to pray for this teenager and his family to continue to encourage their son into developing relationships with those that are different from his typical friends.  God works in so many lives in so many ways.  And he places us in situations for Us to be his hands, feet, and voice.  To love as Christ would love.
