The year old navy began was my summer in Newport Beach, California with Campus Crusade for Christ’s summer project. The summer of the World Cup in LA and OJ in the white bronco not too far from where we lived. I was challenged separate from those I knew. I found myself in Christ in a lot of ways that year. That was 20 years ago.
I visited my first old navy store in California that next summer.
Last year at Fourth of July I didn’t have anything American but my hot pink Dr Pepper shirt. I bought this Old Navy shirt for $5 the last weekend I was in the states in June so I would have it for tonight’s staff-volunteer dinner. Juliette who works in the team house had the 2010 version.
My how Things have changed in 20 years. But somehow they seem the same. I still feel kinda clueless most days. And God is still faithful everyday.
Freedom in Christ is sweeter everyday.
