So here is how it goes around here for me at least-
Monday- Thursday
Go down to the big girls yard by 6am. Supervise that they have cleaned their homes good enough.
Circle time til like 730. Then breakfast.
Walk them to school by 830. Then wait for Amelia to come to the office by 9. Usually do my quiet time while I wait.
Do maybe 20 minutes of work and then get dismissed til the afternoon or the next day. Today I went back to the office at 230 to help some with gifts to the children who's sponsors sent them.
1145 meet girls at school to walk them to lunch. supervise cleaning. Walk kids back to school.
Back down to the office.
Spend down time in the library helping sort, label and put books away.
Go back to the big girls for dinner. Supervise cleaning dining room or go with girls back to their homes to get settled and ready for the night by 5ish.
Hang out at the volunteer house and go to bed.
Friday at 5am is up to the big girl house to be ready for 6am Big Circle time for the whole camp.
Friday afternoon kids have no school so it's play time.
Not sure on Saturday and Sunday schedule yet because i haven't lived it. And them telling me is often different than actual events.
a few things to note-
I have seen kids while they are waiting in line picking lice out of each others hair.
When we drove to the orphanage we stopped for road construction and there were guys selling roasted corn on a stick.
It gets hot here. I have learned to not worry about how sweaty and stinky I may be until i shower and go to bed. And when I get up I am already a generally a little sweaty. It's all good.
on with the photos-
Click on it to see it bigger. Panoramic from the north side of the front compound. The building that looks like the church is the church. school behind it. The white building on the left is the volunteer house. Playground in view is mostly for the special needs kids and the girls.
My room. My bed is the one on the left. It is really hot because i noticed the building is built opposite the way the wind blows. It was an original building on the property. Who ever built it didn't build it for ventilation. Fail.
This is the big girls yard group. The special needs girls are included here. Abby- the gringa in the middle is leaving monday. She is in the office and with the big girls house. She's been very helpful to me and I will miss her.
And random photo- saw this in the storage room down at the school. If I have to explain to you the significance of the logo= then you just don't need to know. haha War Eagle.
and this is for KitchenAid and Sporty's kids. Gotta love some Shannon.
Thats a little glimpse of the day here.
I'll go over food tomorrow maybe. I have to be up and ready at 5 so I don't know how long I will make it tomorrow. hahah
love to yall.
