The day has come and gone. Saturday. Y Day as I called it. The day I have been working on and destroying my house for. The yard sale.
Having made almost 900 selling stuff before Y Day I knew going into it I already was close to my preselling goal. I wasn't sure what to expect Saturday.
TWayne and his two guys came over Friday to load up what I had and move it to Crockpot's house. I had borrowed 6 tables from IT Village guy but it turned out i needed more. Queenie and Bud to the rescue. 6 more tables obtained and filled. Plus Queenie delivered a bunch of clothes that turned out to be a hot area of perusing and buying.
I stuck some signs up strategically. Had the sale listed in the paper (there were only 9 counting the Carl Gregory and Jr. League sales. When we opened the garage door at 645 to pull the tables out there was already a lady waiting. An hour later the driveway and garage were loaded with folks. It was crazy. And I didn't get any pictures but the one of my yard sign.
And in the end there were 10 boxes of stuff left. And a bookshelf. That was it. And my pockets full of mangled money. Praise the Lord that I will almost have paid off my visa bill! (Tithe made me fall a little short…good problem to have eh? 🙂
I have had this sale hanging over my head for weeks. And now that it is done I don't know what to do. Well, I do. I have a to do list that is ever growing. But it is strange to now only own a wooden stool and a wooden bookshelf (anybody need either? : )
I am selling my Honda this afternoon to a really nice couple and it should be a blessing to them. It has been to me for almost 9 years. I have to say that taking it to the Goo Goo after removing all my belongings and taking off the car tag about shoved me over the edge. After today all i will have that is "worth" anything is my camer, computer, and two guitars. It is a very odd feeling. Very. And even odder to know that i still own more than most people in the world.
