Today was the day. The beginning of the end. Or flip side, the beginning of the beginning. I should have taken a before. But I didn’t. And if I took one right now it’s be the first sixteenth of the process.
Yard sale. It’s coming. I think on the 16th. But today was my day off with only one calendared obligation so I jumped in the deep end and started into my stuff.
Daddy and Barbara came over to help since its only just my crazy self. We got through most of the kitchen, most of my books, picture frames, CDs and a few tools. They hauled off what they bought- Daddy got some nice tools and Barbara got some nice electronics.
Now. About the rock. Back in Jr. high I can remember a few things about physical education. Lockers. Square dancing. Lots of chatting.
And the mile. Ohhhhh the mile. At least once a year for six weeks we did “track” like an intro to if we ever wanted to be track and field stars. And I remember my posse hating the mile. It was a lap or two around the school. We had to do it in a certain amount of time or we would have to run it again the next day.
We would typically have at least one time keeper. To remind us the crucial “we HAVE to RUN now” to get back under time.
I can remember kicking a can or Bottle or rock around that loop. Evidently “Buster” was a PE rock in 89. I also evidently bonded with this rock so much I labeled it and brought it home. And put it in my figurine shelf.
Who knew?
I sure didn’t.
My 2013 old lady brain sure didn’t wouldn’t and couldn’t remember the details of this relationship.
But I can guarantee one thing.
Buster was in my hand when I finished that mile. Cuz I never had to do it again yeah second day.
That’s for sure.
