So today I sat and scanned letters from sponsor kids to their sponsors. General letters, reply letters, and thank you letters. An it warmed my heart. I have a couple pics to show you- a few of my favs. And I got to listen to the kids at the school at GABA singing, playing, and learning while I worked. How sweet is that? Pretty sweet.
I found out that ARM has something new to communicate to sponsors that I think some of you will love. It should get to your mailbox in time for Christmas. It made me smile just seeing other folks kids. Please don’t forget to bless your sponsor kid(s) with a little something extra for Christmas. On my way to leave the church/ARM office we had to stop by the library to get little Martha who had stayed home sick. As we turned around from the back of the library I turned and saw this at the very front of the library…the very same verse a friend/villager just Texted me a few hours before. If that’s not confirmation and affirmation and every other “ation” possible then I don’t know what is?
It didn’t work out for me to meet up with the cornerstone crew because they are getting back from their day today too late. So I ended up back at Green valley for dinner. So I ordered Chicken ala king off the hotel menu. And sat in the open at seating trying to read while darkness descended, the Mosquitos came out, and the lizard crawled around the wall to entertain me when it got too dark to read. Lights here typically are one lightbulb so readin was out once it got dark outside. In my room yea, outside no. And I was watching NTV. Can’t understand a word they are saying and one of the news anchors was evidently on location…a car drove up behind a table, stopped, and a guy gets out with an iPad and what looked like a Bluetooth. They cut to him a few times for news stories to be read. TIA-this is Africa. Oh and the hotel manager zapping bugs with his electrified tennis racket thing was a sight. I gotta say I kinda want one…
And a couple of things to note:
Uganda Independence Day next Tuesday. 50 yrs of independence. I’ve been told that normal folks don’t do too much but it seems to be a big deal. We’ll see 🙂
Ebola officially over says the signs at the airport. Last reported victim and all those who have treated Ebola victims will officially be cleared Oct4. I had forgotten all about it til I saw the three signs at the airport.
Oh and I am convinced there is a bar or something on the first floor about 3 rooms down. It never fails there will always be some sort of loudness involving music somewhere nearby when I am in Kampala. Never fails. Would be disappointed If I’m ever. Not hahaha
Did some of my Beth Moore bible study today. And boy how The Lord spoke- and from a lesson I missed 3 wks ago.
Sorry I could only get one photo to attach I promise you’ll see the others later!
Love ya’ll
