I have about 5000 billion things to do before I leave Friday. But I’m gonna blog. Because I haven’t in awhile. And because I have 500 things I want to say but haven’t in about what-10 days or more?
I miss michael scott.
I like The Voice. Thank you for some good ol singing minus the “show” and 600 commercials.
The Biggest Loser-amazing people this season. Love the ladies still standing. Olivia said “my cup runneth over” last night and my heart smiled so much.
Now on to real life…
Lessons learned lately about parenthood-
I’m way less patient and understanding than my friend Jen when it comes to someone not honoring her kid just because they don’t particularly like them. But they show favoritism toward their own. Sports is a team event…
I’m way less patient than some parents when a child is blatantly disobedient. Some parents I don’t think are patient, they just don’t get discipline. And boy howdy I’m sorry when 15+ hits ur kid. It may be rough.
God knows what He’s doin givin u a child that’s little n can’t speak and when u love them so much u can’t stand it, then they get old enough to backtalk so you won’t leave em on the side of the road because you love em too much.
I have friends with some great kids. And it’s an honor to watch them lead them in the way they should go.
I’d be honored to be a bonafide momma one day. But for now days at a time on loan work great. 🙂
I’ve been working on gettin things for my sponsor kids Resty and Rahman. Cannot wait to see them! Just praying the clothes fit!!!! And honored to deliver things on behalf of other sponsors. It brings joy to my heart.
And I’ve been following a Cornerstone team via FB and a few blogs and cannot belive what I can see of what God has been doing in Buloba. Amazing. Cannot wait to see in person. Saying goodbye to them will destroy me (again). But I so cannot wait to fellowship with them!
Please pray for/with me that I would see God’s vision for me and my future-here or there, a mix of both or some sort of definitive direction.
I can’t wait to see all my friends! I had one request chileos for his dtr-Patrick asked for Martha. Took a minute to figure out he meant cheerios. Further clarification “honey nut”. Check. On the shopping list.
And I booked my little bitty hotel room at the Amsterdam hotel. Got my guidebook and got a ticket for the last time slot for the Anne Frank house. They saved the house she hid in and turned it into a museum. And the church she could hear the bells from is right nearby. I’m stoked to get to walk doen the street by a canal and go see it. Find dinner and retreat to my little hotel. I’ll forgo the red light district and the “smokehouses.”
Grateful for the prayers, the encouragement and kind words. I really really need the prayers. My solo trips involving planes tend to be excitement filled (negative type excitement) and I’d rather not on this one. I attribute the mostly drama free previous international trips to prayer. Need it again please peeps.
I am delighted to know next week isn’t about me. Its about God and what He is doing. And all of you-the body. What God is doing with and in you all. Keep it up.
And in anticipation of leaving a place I haven’t even made it to yet…I stole this from Emile Ewing’s blog tonight. Perfect quote. Not that I’m being a downer-just perfect quote. And I know I won’t remember in 10 days…
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. ~ Carol Sobiesk
And added by me- grateful in the body of Christ goodbyes aren’t forever.
Happy wednesday. Update from Amsterdam probably!
