Available…for His glory.

available for Him- His purpose, His glory

Oh where to start?
“Be careful little eyes what you see…be careful little ears what you hear…”
I got an email from another healthcare worker (she doesn’t work at my work) recently. I finally opened-sorting out my cell phone inbox. It was a video and it said it was muslims stoning a woman. I googled it to check out what the real story was and from what I can tell it was a Kurd woman who ran off to marry a muslim and her family convinced her to return. They then beat and kicked her before they dropped a concrete block on her head.
I have NO idea why I opened it. Curiosity got the best of me. It made me want to vomit.
It continually stuns me to realize how angry people can be. Muslim or Kurd, or whatever label given to those involved. I just can’t imagine ever being in a position to be one of those people involved in taking another’s life. For this reason I never joined the military. (That and the being yelled at by drill sergeants). But being in the military and kicking a person to death are two different things.
I don’t know why I tell you this, other than to share that there are things like this going on in the world. And at times those enduring the suffering are believers. We often don’t hear and realize the sacrifices brothers and sisters across the world give for the faith. And they never relent.
It hurts my heart to compare what the western world often considers sacrifice (me included) and knowing some of the things I read about in the persecuted church.
And it makes me long for His name to be known. And for His return.
And until the memory of what I have seen today softens… My heart is heavy and my attention is toward praying hard for believers.
