So, last year this time I think I was on my way to Hong Kong for an evening then to mainland China. I cannot stop thinking how different this year was from last year. Two completely different worlds. How I loved to share the message of Christmas to brothers and sisters- even though it had to go through at least 2 interpreters.
Funny thing is though, that in a lot of ways this Christmas seems almost as simple as last year's. I didn't do a whole lot of running around and frantic shopping for just the right gift. Simple gifts of friendship. I love helping friends, randomness, and laughing. I think I like that. There is a magic in the simplicity.
I encourage you to take a minute to stop and pray for those around the world who are celebrating Christmas- the TRUE meaning of Christmas in oppressed lands. Those who don't have full freedom to REALLY celebrate the Christ behind the Christmas. And to be thankful that we can.
