Today was a busy day. We started off with prayer for Sandra- it’s her 55 birthday and she chose to spend it running around and moving a little dirt…crazy woman : ) Our next stop was the side of the road, courtesy of the friendly neighborhood police. It seems they like to hassle the locals by random checks. They stopped the van Timothy (hired help) was driving. They discovered he had the wrong class on his card. Patrick smooth talked his way into convincing them to let us go Patrick spoke with someone later who cleared the card situation and they picked up his card later.
We moved dirt all morning- we are making some headway in the footings. It is long work and the neighborhood kids were in full force helping today. There were boys from several places who worked harder than any of us- and they were 7,8, and 9!!!!
I got a chance to talk to Pastor Eva today about the microeconomics and getting that going. Actually Josh, Robin, Sandra and Becky bought the first 4 Buloba items today. A lady named Esther made some baskets because of what Eva has been discussing. We told her to make more and we could sell them. They are going to make more. I am excited and Eva is excited. We also discussed the possibility of the engineer coming Sunday to find if water is available on church property!!!
We also talked to “The Bridge” (Patirck) about the sponsoring children. All I have to say right now is say YES. You can change a child’s life and not realize how much that means. School fees, a meal, a pair of shoes…and more. You can impact the future of the world. And if we can get enough folks to say YES I want to sponsor a child when we are ready we could be ready for picking out names in about six weeks! SIX Weeks!!
This afternoon we went down to the school and played. And laughed, and played some more. Pictures don’t do it justice. The muslim children from next door are all involved with helping and playing with us. The children brought a big basket of fruit over today and gave it to me for the team as we were leaving. It was incredible. One of the little boys- Musafamir worked with us and was drinking nasty dirty water while we worked= Abby got a picture. It broke our hearts and we cannot wait to get the WELL in!!!
Thank you for reading. Thank you for praying. Keep going. All is well, we broke out the snickers and M&Ms during devo tonight. Americans need their chocolate every now and then and I like to provide my teams a few surprises!
Tomorrow is door to door ministry and VBS. One of the most challenging to our team I think. One of the most rewarding! It should be fabulous and amazing. Then we will dine out. Check back tomorrow for more!
